Last Friday president Obama send out a video wishing the Iranian people a happy Nowruz and a message in which he expressed the hope that the US and Iran would rebuild their relationship through diplomacy. Although this gesture was a huge change in rhetoric compared to president Obama's predecessor mr. Bush, the Iranian government and leaders reacted quite cool, and even rebuffed president Obama's invitation. Change of language is not enough said supreme leader Khamanei, only if the US changes its actions will we change. Indeed, Obama extended the economic sanctions against Iran and also his videomessage was filled with several demands aimed at the Iranian government, but the gesture was both courageous and inviting. Was this the reaching hand of the US? Is the ball now in the Iranian court? Or is it still in the Americans? Which side should take the next step?
